چکیده

This paper describes the performance of an image capture simulator. The general model underlying the simulator assumes that a) the image capture device contains multiple classes of sensors with different spectral sensitivities and b) that each sensor responds linearly to light intensity over most of its operating range. We place no restrictions on the number of sensor classes, their spectral sensitivities, or their spatial arrangement. The input to the simulator is a set of narrow-band images of the scene taken with a custom-designed hyperspectral camera system. The parameters for the simulator are the number of sensor classes, the sensor spectral sensitivities, the noise statistics and number of quantization levels for each sensor class, the spatial arrangement of the sensors, and the exposure duration. The output of the simulator is the raw image data that would have beeu acquired by the simulated image capture device. To test the simulator, we acquired images of the same scene both with our hyperspectraJ camera and with a calibrated Kodak DCS-200 digital color camera. We used the simulator to predict the DCS-200 output from the hyperspectral data. The agreement between simulated and acquired images validated the image capture response model, the spectral calibrations, and our simulator implementation. We believe the simulator will provide a useful tool for understanding the effect of varying the design parameters of an image capture device.

Fusion of Panchromatic and Multispectral Images Using Non Subsampled Contourlet Transform and FFT Based Spectral Histogram (RESEARCH NOTE)

Image fusion is a method for obtaining a highly informative image by merging the relative information of an object obtained from two or more image sources of the same scene. The satellite cameras give a single band panchromatic (PAN) image with high spatial information and multispectral (MS) image with more spectral information. The problem exists today is either PAN or MS image is available fr...

Hyperspectral Super-Resolution with Spectral Unmixing Constraints

Hyperspectral sensors capture a portion of the visible and near-infrared spectrum with many narrow spectral bands. This makes it possible to better discriminate objects based on their reflectance spectra and to derive more detailed object properties. For technical reasons, the high spectral resolution comes at the cost of lower spatial resolution. To mitigate that problem, one may combine such ...

Target Detection Improvement in Hyperspectral Images

Hyperspectral images have the high spectral resolution rather than to multispectral images. By development of remote sensing technology, the new sensors with hyperspectral capabilities in RS science will be replaced to multispectral imaging. A big advantage of hyperspectral images comparison to that of multispectral images is a continuous spectrum for each image cell that can be derived from im...

Combining of Magnitude and Direction of Change Indices to Unsupervised Change Detection in Multitemporal Multispectral Remote Sensing Images

In remote sensing, image-based change detection techniques, analyze two images acquired over the same area at different times t1 and t2 to identify the changes occurred on the Earth's surface. Change detection approaches are mainly categorized as supervised and unsupervised. Generating the change index is a key step for change detection in multi-temporal remote sensing images. Unsupervised chan...
